Job Overview:

Description

An Electrical Engineer in Clysar, LLC will lead and implement capital projects needed to support the business. Additionally, they provide day-to-day troubleshooting and assistance to Operations and Maintenance with the site’s electrical and control systems. These responsibilities include developing and leading various activities in the plant aimed at maintaining and improving Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify business risk and initiate improvement plans, taking ownership of the results.
  • Develop, plan, and implement capital improvement projects.
  • Take ownership of projects, including managing other stakeholders, creating and holding to project timelines, and managing project budget.
  • Generate complete electrical control system designs, including panel layouts, component selection, programming, etc.
  • Coordinate with other departments to implement design changes and modifications
  • Support Maintenance and Operations with electrical projects and troubleshooting of all key systems including PLC’s (Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC, and PLC5), Drives (Allen Bradley, Parker/SSD), HMI’s (FactoryTalk View), Plant floor control networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and DH+), power distribution, and general-purpose industrial controls.
  • Lead and/or participate in Cross-Functional project teams.
  • Mentor less-experienced engineers and technicians. Provide documentation and conduct training that supports and promotes skill and knowledge expansion throughout the facility.
  • Stay abreast of technology advances

Requirements:

  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong aptitude for Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC controls, drives, and I/O system.
  • Experience with Ethernet communications, PID Loops, tension control, and electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with medium voltage power systems, PLC data collection (FactoryTalk Historian and Transaction Manager), SQL, and computer hardware/assembly would also be a beneficial.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering (extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Minimum two years of experience
