Raytheon is currently seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer who is ready to join a diverse, talented, and enthusiastic team of engineering professionals on-site at the Harold E Holt (HEH) Naval Communication Station (NCS) in Exmouth.

Reporting to Engineering Manager and working closely with the VLF and Power Plant Supervisors, your prime responsibility is to support and sustain the most powerful transmission station in the Southern Hemisphere.

You will assist in complex fault rectification, electrical design, and sustainment activities to assure the HEH NCS operational performance and governance is maintained in accordance with Australian electrical standards & WA state legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Engineer for the VLF Mission System, supporting the operation of the transmitter and associated equipment.
  • Support the Senior Electrical Engineer with power generation, power transmission and system sustainment.
  • Conduct technical investigations across a range of bespoke equipment.
  • Develop solutions that meet customer requirements within cost, schedule and quality constraints
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager on project issues and process engineering change in accordance with company and program procedures
  • Participate and contribute to technical reviews and program planning
  • Risk assess Electrical Engineering hazards and propose solutions for rectification.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical Engineering with professional engineering experience in Electrical systems
  • Ability to identify and resolve defects on a diverse range of electrical systems
  • Willingness to become and maintain a Chartered Professional Engineering status via Engineers Australia
  • Familiarity with Australian Standard (AS) electrical standards and preferably with WA legislation
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
