Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, tests, and supervises the manufacturing of electrical equipment.  Uses advanced computer skills and various software systems to complete daily tasks.  Reviews technical inputs provided by customer.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS


FIRMWARE

  1. Design and implement algorithms for firmware
  2. Create technical documents describing firmware usage
  3. Responsible for firmware development from design to creation
  4. Manages updates and provides support

 

HARDWARE

  1. Designs electronic circuits and create schematics
  2. Learn common electronic communication protocols (such as WIFI, CAN, Bluetooth)
  3. Review manufacturers data sheets for component interface and compatibility
  4. Select components that fulfill PCB design requirements
  5. Perform circuit stimulation and design analysis
  6. Maintain component library with schematic symbols, package dimensions and specifications
  7. Create circuit board layout with industry standard CAD software packages
  8. Test sample circuits and prototypes to verify that design meets requirements
  9. Generate Gerber files for manufacturing
  10. Coordinate multiple projects to meet customer schedules and hard deadlines
  11. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  12. Maintains product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  13. Collaborates with Project Engineers for proper allocation and tracking resources.
  14. Creates designs in accordance with company regulations and client standards and values.
  15. Provides support during the process to ensure design specifications are met.
  16. Analyzes problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and recommends solutions.
  17. Follows all safety rules and quality standards including all company policies and procedures.
  18. Performs job assignments in a safe and productive manner while maintaining high quality levels.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic or computer engineering
  2. Five to ten years proven work experience
  3. In-depth knowledge of C and C++, board design and engineering design
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office and associated applications including AutoCAD
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and an excellent understanding of mathematics.
  6. Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
  7. Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
  8. High level of professionalism accompanied with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  9. Must have excellent time management skills, being able to prioritize multiple priorities at one time.
  10. Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
  11. Ability to work independently and as a team member.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
  2. Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
  3. Must be able to lift and transport 50 lbs.
