Job Summary:
For over 30 years, DENSO Machine and Tool has served our in house customers to design and build world class automation across DENSO North America. Focusing on vision, robotics, and metal forming in high speed automation, we work with internal groups to provide turnkey automation projects. As a member of the design team, your role is to create concepts, develop ideas, and design production automation machines. Electrical Design Engineers are responsible for the control system’s hardware and software, including, PLC, HMI, robots, vision, sensors, and PC systems. You will lead projects from concept and design through debug and installation, collaborating with the other design members, and our onsite customers and users. Our team is constantly challenging the boundaries of factory automation, using robotics, vision, AI, and IoT systems.

- Innovative problem solver and capable to make decisions independently using data, statistical tools, and following the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, including cross functional teams and multiple engineering disciplines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable to organize, plan, and lead effective meetings.
- Strong project management skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Extremely detail oriented
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design machines for manufacturing and product handling
- Modify machinery for new model introductions, safety or quality improvements
- Write detailed equipment specifications for the procurement of manufacturing equipment
- Lead in the start-up and debug of new equipment
- Manage projects from inception through completion
- Support and improve existing manufacturing processes
- Willingness to travel, train, and support DENSO group companies throughout North America and globally
Required Qualifications:
- BSEE, BSCE or BSCS degree with 5-8 years of related experience or 8 years of experience with Engineering degree
- Experience programming PLC’s, Safety PLC’s and HMI's (Prefer AB, Omron brands)
- Experience with hardware and safety circuit design for automated machines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pneumatics or hydraulic fluid power system design and troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of electrical sensors, vision and other machine sensing systems
- Experience in machine risk assessments and design standards (ISO 13849 or similar)
- MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project
- 2 or more years designing and procuring equipment for manufacturing and assembly processes
- Industrial robotics programming (Denso, ABB, or Fanuc brands)
- Integrating and programming servo drives (AB or Yaskawa)
- C++, Visual Basic, SQL database or other programming languages
- Experience with Ethernet networking such as IP configuration, Managed Switches, NAT, Network configuration and Troubleshooting
Salary Range: $100,000-$109,000
