Job Description

Aegis is partnered with a manufacturer in Addison, IL that is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to design custom low-voltage switchgear and power distribution equipment. This is a hands-on role working directly with production, purchasing, and mechanical engineering to support builds and troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Create single-line, three-line, and control schematics.

• Prepare detailed wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, and BOMs.

• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

• Support the shop floor on wiring, mounting, and design-related questions.

• Assist with component selection, breaker sizing, and cable calculations.

• Participate in continuous improvement and R&D initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering OR Associate’s in Electrical Engineering Technology.

• 3+ years of electrical design experience.

• 2+ years working for a switchgear or electrical enclosure manufacturer.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.

• Strong understanding of power distribution and control circuits.

• Ability to read, create, and revise wiring diagrams and schematics.
