Restek is looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Controls Engineer III to help design, build, and support cutting-edge systems and equipment across our manufacturing operations. In this senior-level role, you’ll take ownership of complex control systems projects from concept through implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive performance, safety, and reliability across the company.

What You’ll Do

In this hands-on role, you’ll work on complex electrical controls systems—from initial concept to final implementation—collaborating with other engineers to ensure efficiency, safety, and performance. You’ll also guide team members, lead projects, and provide support for electrical controls systems across the company.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing electrical control systems and components.
  • Creating project plans and functional specs to support Restek teams.
  • Developing hardware and software for control systems; integrating and troubleshooting them.
  • Working with internal customers to scope and initiate projects.
  • Leading and managing project schedules, budgets, and communication.
  • Creating clear technical documentation for system operation and design.
  • Supporting and optimizing control systems to improve processes and productivity.
  • Maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Contributing to department-wide initiatives and process improvements.

What You’ll Bring

We’re seeking candidates with a strong mix of technical expertise and hands-on experience in industrial electrical controls systems.

Education & Experience:

Typical requirements for this role include an associate degree from an accredited Electrical Controls Technician program with 10 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Skilled in designing and reading electrical schematics (especially ladder logic) per NFPA 79 standards.
  • Experience creating, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC programs (CoDeSys and Allen Bradley platforms preferred).
  • Experience with AutoCAD for electrical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of digital/analog I/O and PLC or PC-based control systems.
  • Bonus points for experience with:
    • Visual C#
    • ASP.NET MVC
    • .NET MAUI applications and OPC UA
    • EtherCAT
    • TwinCAT
    • Universal Robotics programming

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate across teams and explain technical details clearly.

This position requires the successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy. Employment with Restek requires the completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
