| We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical CAD Designer to generate detailed 2D schematics and 3D models of electrical system designs. The Electrical CAD Designer is responsible for reviewing sales orders to ensure accurate design specifications. Creating, maintaining, and updating engineering models and drawings. Manage project timelines. The designer will collaborate with Project Managers, Sales Engineers and Team members to ensure design accuracy and consistency of electrical systems. Designers will contribute to all elements of the project life cycle inclusive of gathering project requirements, preliminary and final design, project monitoring and manufacturing support. Roles and Responsibilities: - Create detailed electrical parts, assemblies, and installation drawings using CAD software, using industry, departmental and discipline standards, within the specified timelines.
- Ensure all designs adhere to technical standards and project requirements, including NEC, UL 508, and UL 508A.
- Work closely with team members to develop designs and schematics.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to investigate and resolve problems.
- Participate in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations
- Revise drawings as necessary per Engineering Change Requests and provide guidance on additional time and expense for change to Mechanical CAD Designers, Sales Engineers and Project Managers.
- Assist Sales Engineers with research and development for electrical components.
- Develop manufacturing and assembly process documentation to support production builds.
- Assist in production trouble shooting and problem-solving components and assemblies.
- Maintain and update electronic databases and files, performing checks and revisions to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Work productively as a team member with other employees, fostering a strong team mentality
- Accurately follow OSHA and ISO procedures and guidelines and maintain compliance for all business obligations.
- Consistently meet company set productivity guidelines

Qualifications and Education Requirements - Associate degree and two years of 3D electrical design experience or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related program
- Expert knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, particularly SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles and engineering concepts.
- Must be a hands-on designer, willing to interact and assist manufacturing throughout the build process.
- Read/interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Self-starter with high attention to detail to produce accurate and high-quality designs.
- Familiarity with NEC, UL 508 and UL 508A standards.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with project managers and engineers.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
Working Conditions: - Nearly always work indoors. Humidity level may be elevated during summer months when required to go to the warehouse
- Exposure to specific contaminants throughout work should be expected infrequently.
- Safety glasses are always required on the plant floor.
- May be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels; earplugs are provided and recommended
- Standard Hours are 7am – 4pm, but flexibility to come in earlier or leave later is available by request and approval of management
- Saturday work on occasion, as necessary, to meet job deadlines and requirements.
Physical Demands: - Ability to sit for a long period of time.
- Must have full range of motion and be able to kneel and bend for short periods as task may require.
- Continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, walking, stooping, handling materials and regular keyboard and mouse usage.
