Job Overview:

This role involves working with electrical power cables, vibration monitoring systems (VMS), and performing mechanical and electrical tests for compressors and turbines. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading wiring diagrams, fabricating conduits, and operating test equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install electrical wiring, conduits, switches, and performance/mechanical instrumentation for testing compressors and turbines.
  • Use tools like conduit benders, power hand tools, soldering equipment, and test instruments (e.g., Hipot tester, Megger tester, Helium leak detector) to ensure proper assembly and functionality.
  • Analyze wiring diagrams and work orders to determine material needs and assembly specifications.
  • Fabricate parts and assemble conduits according to drawings and blueprints.
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to assist with assembly processes.
  • Perform electrical testing such as AC/DC hipot testing, megger testing, and helium leak checks on electrical components.
  • Collaborate with Instrumentation Specialists for vibration analysis and assist in troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and reporting defective materials or equipment.
  • Document work performed and report any difficulties or necessary corrections to supervisors.
  • Assist in wiring and preparing compressors and turbines for final shipment.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts) as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with electrical assembly and fabrication tools.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and technical drawings.

Preferred:

  • Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of hipot, megger, and helium leak testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with vibration analysis techniques.

  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed for assembly and installation.
  • Strong focus on safety and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
  • Physical ability to operate machinery, cranes, and material handling equipment.
