The G.A.L. Group is looking to fill the position of Application Engineer, who under the direction of the Controls Manager will primarily be responsible for verifying data required for industrial control equipment, align specifications, standards and changes with specific customer needs, and work with multiple departments and product lines to meet the customer’s requirements. After the product has been delivered to the customer, the Application Engineer will have to assist customers in solving technical issues. The Application Engineer should have a degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and have 1-3 years of related experience.

Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

• Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Autodesk AutoCAD knowledge required
• 3-D AutoCAD drawing experience preferred
• Data analysis, math, and problem solving skills highly preferred
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include: 

• Manage and interpret customer requirements and specifications.
• Customize the company’s Industrial Control equipment to meet customer’s needs and specifications.
• Process change orders that may require the modification of company products and equipment.
• Work with various departments such as Customer Service, Estimating, Sales, and Manufacturing to ensure client specifications are met.
• Problem solve and provide assistance to all company departments and answer questions about the technical functionality of the industrial control equipment.
• Provide assistance to technical support for industrial control products.
• Orchestrate both simple and complex tasks with limited supervision. Daily responsibilities will depend on his or her ability to produce results from existing limited solutions and to maintain a professional attitude.
• Participate in information gathering calls and/or meetings with clients to determine the clients' needs, and desired outcomes. These meetings may involve job site visits, and surveying that may lead to job specific product development.
• Present information and new ideas for review and possible implementation into new and existing products.

Position Details

• Full time
• Day shifts, generally 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
