Our client is seeking an experienced Electric Motor Repair Technician to join their growing team in Romeoville, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting and repair experience in electric motors, pumps, and rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electric motor failures and performance issues.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
- Perform testing using equipment such as winding analyzers, core loss testers, meggers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Inspect and evaluate motors throughout the repair process, from initial intake through final testing and shipment.
- Repair and service DC motors, 3-phase motors, gearboxes, pumps, and related equipment.
- Accurately document inspection findings, test results, and repair recommendations.
- Maintain repair records and reports using basic computer systems.
- Collaborate with shop personnel to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of repairs.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in an EASA-certified motor repair shop or similar industrial repair environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electric motor systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, pumps, and rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with servo motors and motor winding processes is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic and test results accurately.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to team success.
