EHS TechnicianPosition Overview
The EHS Technician will support Twisting, Heatset, and Spacedye EHS operations by completing critical tasks designed to promote compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, Shaw Management Systems, requirements and general industry Best Practice.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the Plant 67 Safety and Environmental programs are maintained and that all concerns are dealt with quickly and appropriately.
Coordinate with plant maintenance and conduct SAFE authorized training on the designated schedule. This includes Arc Flash, Lockout Tagout, PIT, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Material Handling and other SAFE authorized training.
Implement SAFE programs and follow up with discrepancies.
Help coordinate and participate in annual hearing tests. Perform blocker tests. Perform biannual facility decibel testing.
Perform routine plant walkthroughs and issue corrective actions as needed.
Assist EHS Manager with SAFE and Environmental tasks.
Participate in facility safety programs and learning activities.
Help and coordinate with training department for SAFE training and other tasks.
Perform SAFE and Environmental system compliance audits.
Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.
Requirements:
Computer proficiency and must have knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to other facilities as needed.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed.
Must have high school diploma or GED
Preferred Skills:
Working knowledge of all SAFE system programs, the Environmental Handbook and SMS.
