We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EHS Specialist to join our team in Greensburg, IN. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our facility adheres to environmental, health, and safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety and compliance. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide training and support to employees on EHS practices, procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventive measures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in EHS management.
  • Lead one direct report.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to safety management.

  • 5 Why (Root Cause Analysis Method)
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)
  • National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification
  • Workplace Safety & EHS Management
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Machine Safety Inspections
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
