About the Role:
The Solar Turbines facility is looking for a qualified person to serve as an experienced individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that are complex and that support and enhance facility performance and compliance. The Solar Turbines, Inc. Harbor Drive Facility in San Diego, CA is looking for an EHS Senior Specialist with Safety accountability at the site. The successful candidate can implement EHS policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with legal requirements and standards. Has working knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in EHS Safety compliance, including a thorough working knowledge of the technical or regulated fields as they relate to safety management in an industrial setting, including the Federal, State and Local Safety regulations and programs applicable to Company operations.
What You Will Do:
Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards
Facilitates development and delivery of EHS training to facility personnel ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives
Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions
Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems
Conducts incident investigations
Participates in industrial hygiene activities
Regularly interacts with employees and supervisors on the implementation and/or adherence to EHS policy.
Communicate and build relationships effectively as well as ability to influence others
Perform complex assignments

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
What You Have:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety-related discipline, such as Engineering or Science with a minimum of 4 years of closely related professional work experience
The successful candidate has knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and the ability to implement EHS policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with legal requirements and standards.
EHS experience in Manufacturing Environment
Strong technical experience: OSHA Regulations, Injury investigations, auditing, safety training, data analytical skills and project leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the following programs is preferred but not required: Workday Learning, COUPA, Cority, 3E
Industrial Hygiene certifications and/or experience

Summary Pay Range:
$108,834.00 - $163,252.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
