**Position Details
**The Environment, Health and Safty (EHS) Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health & safety compliance programs at Medical Products Laboratories (MPL), a contract manufacturing and packaging facility located in Northeast Philadelphia.
**Essential Job Functions
**
Develop, implement, and administer programs for plant safety, health, and environmental protection.
Assist in writing and reviewing all safety related SOP’s and preparation and implementation of safety-training program for employees.
Coordinate safety-training requirements for outside contractors and ensure proper documentation of training.
Perform periodic H&S and various other audits to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Assist in all aspects of providing PPE to employees.
Ensures plant employees are properly trained on permits and all company EHS procedures and policies.
Maintains awareness of safe working conditions and practices safe work habits in all activities.
Educates and promotes safe work practices and programs. Prepare and maintain the following Industrial Hygiene Programs including maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets, Chemical inventory list.
Develops, evaluates and maintains effective injury prevention programs, including Behavior Based Safety (BBS), Employee Engagement, Safe Cut Tools, Glove Usage, etc.
Assist in internal emergency response regarding spills and evacuations.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental events
Coach leaders and teams on safe behaviors and accountability
Lead emergency response readiness and fire safety programs
Develops and implements all recurring environmental training programs applicable to the facility.
Administers facility H&S activities to ensure compliance with all OSHA programs applicable to the facility, including, Forklift, Electrical Safety, Scissors Lifts, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Machine Guarding, HAZCOM and Fall Protection.
Responsible for submitting all permits and maintaining all environmental files in manner consistent with Federal, State and Company guidelines.
Manages recordkeeping and programs required for EHS regulatory compliance.
Interacts with external agencies as representative of the plant and the company. Prepare summaries and recommend actions accordingly based on any observations
Assist with all waste management practices to ensure proper facility handling, including proper identification of storage, disposal, waste manifest documentation and other associated duties.
Maintain a safe working environment. Understand, follow, and support company policies and procedures (e.g., lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space entry, etc.), as well as corporate and local safety initiatives. Assume responsibility for risk assessment.
Direct and chair plant safety committee meetings. Maintain OSHA records. Conduct accident prevention and education activities.
Respond to emergencies. Recommend methods of addressing health, safety, and environmental concerns. Manage environmental emergencies.
Review all proposed new or modified processes and equipment to ensure all safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies are followed.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of regulatory compliance and keep abreast of changing business practices that may impact health, safety, and environmental regulations.

**
Four-year degree in Environmental Science or other scientific discipline or relevant work experience in the hazard material regulatory or safety field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience working with and providing oversight of environmental and safety compliance at power plants or other industrial locations.
Familiarity with EPA, state and Federal OSHA regulations
