Environmental Operations: – 30%
Coordinate with corporate EHS to maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local Regulations
Coordinate with corporate EHS for regulatory updates, new standards and customer requirements. Ensure requirements are understood and communicated to the organization
Develop and maintain the Dallas budget for environmental and regulatory operations
Coordinate with corporate EHS to ensure CTS maintains an Environmental Management System compliant to ISO14001 standard
Coordinate self-declaration with corporate EHS department
Coordinate with corporate EHS to ensure reporting requirements are met on time for the following
Environmental Protection Agency
Texas Department of Health
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
Texas Water Development Board
Department of Transportation
Dallas Water Utilities
City of Dallas
Air Emissions
Water Quality
Fire Department
Manage and maintain compliance, in conjunction with corporate EHS, for hazardous and non-hazardous waste including
Chemical and waste handling
Waste definitions and classifications
Waste minimization and recycling
Packaging, labeling, and manifesting waste shipments
Disposal management
Generator categories and corresponding regulations
Waste accumulation and corresponding requirements
Container and tank management
Manage and maintain air quality compliance
Air quality permits and facilities emissions
Permit by rule exemptions
Review and approve process impact on all new product development (PDP) and continuous improvement projects
Work with Process Engineering to define process requirements and develop operating procedures
Work with corporate EHS to ensure all company environmental policies and procedures are in place and current and training is developed and available as required
No major impacts to the environment and\or residential neighbors
No citation or monetary fines issued due to non-compliance
Serve as an Internal Auditor to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, international standards, customer requirements, company policy, procedures and practices
Employee Emergency, Health and Safety – 5%
Coordinate with corporate EHS department for compliance with current regulations including the EICC SA8000 standard
Support and coordinate corporate EHS training, emergency planning, coordination, response and reporting (as required)
Support corporate directives for maintaining in good operating condition fire suppression systems, building security, emergency eye wash and shower stations, first aid cabinets and spill response media.
Support corporate directives for emergency policies and procedures for emergency evacuation, tornado alert, chemical spill, security and contingency plan.
Administrative / Workers Compensation – 10%
Support Contract Review process by reviewing to ensure the proper requirements are stated (if the requirement is checked – ROHS, REACH, PRO 65, tec.).
Management Review is conducted annually to identify Environmental Aspects and establish objectives and targets to prevent negative impact
Annual budgets are developed
Goals are developed, pursued and achieved
Reports and indices are updated on time
Process Value Chain methods are used for process improvements and cost reduction
Suggestions for continuous improvement are documented and communicated
Problem solving and GAP analysis are used to identify root cause and effective solutions
Special projects are supported as required
Project reports and recommendations to upper Management are submitted
Workers’ Compensation
Timely and consistent communication with coworkers and department teams is maintained
All injury reporting to insurance carrier and State agencies are completed in a timely manner
All injured employees receive authorized satisfactory medical care
Accident investigations are conducted promptly and recommendations are made in a timely manner
Injured employees who incur lost time return to work in a timely manner
All injured employees who have work restrictions return to regular work in a timely manner
Employee medical records are maintained properly
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in environmental and safety field
5+ years in Environmental and Safety Engineering
1+ years management experience
Facilities operational management
Working knowledge of U.S. environmental and safety regulations
Experience maintaining ISO9001 and ISO14001 compliance
Working knowledge of REACH, RoHS, EICC and SA8000 standards
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Able to balance financial, safety and environmental objectives
Skills & Other Requirements
Audit experience in safety and environmental areas
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to comprehend and communicate at a high level with Senior Managers, customers, distributors, and regulatory agencies
Ability to anticipate and handle multiple priorities and complex/abstract issues involving external and internal priorities
Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross-cultural, global team environment
Proven ability to lead and motivate people
Handle special assignments promptly and professionally

Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with others to exchange information
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment
Safety Requirements
Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
Quality & Environmental Responsibilities
This position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
Responsible for maintaining Quality Work Environment housekeeping standards for own work area and community areas.
