Pratt & Whitney is looking for an Environmental Professional, EH&S Generalist, to join our team in Grand Prairie. In this role you will design, develop, implement and oversee the organization’s Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) environmental programs and procedures to safeguard our employees and the environment. You will ensure that the organization is compliant with all corporate and city/state/federal policies and regulations applicable to EH&S. This role will report directly to the EH&S Manager.
This position will primarily be focused on environmental compliance to include waste management, wastewater compliance, air emission compliance to meet existing State of Texas New Source Review permits, Registered and Non-registered PBRs, stormwater and Spill Prevention, Countermeasures, and Control. A successful candidate will apply for permits, prepare for and host internal and regulatory audits, monitor upcoming proposed regulations and get involved in working groups to ensure rules are developed to accommodate facility manufacturing needs and provide input to rule development process. Position will assist in other areas of environmental, health, and safety as needed and develop expertise in the EH&S function outside of environmental compliance.
Clean Air Act
Support compliance with existing air permits by validating Registered and Non-Registered air emissions sources through quarterly walkthroughs at three locations.
Work with Operators to maintain monthly air emission logs for affected equipment.
Update Air Emissions related spreadsheets monthly
Work with consultants to support new air permitting efforts
Clean Water Act
Support compliance with DARO’s three municipal wastewater permits to include semi-annual reporting and renewal of permits
Quarterly internal wastewater analytical data tracking and interpretation
Tracking and interpretation of wastewater monitoring data from the Cities of Grand Prairie and Arlington
Update SPCC and SWP3 plans as needed which include conducting and documenting monthly inspections in each location and sharing the results with the Team for corrective actions.
Industrial and Hazardous Waste
Support waste management compliance for three Large Quantity Generators.
Internally log waste manifests monthly
Log monthly waste generation metrics in EHS Smart
Review manifests prior to waste shipments
Maintain approximately 200 waste characterizations; review annually; create new waste characterizations as needed
Sample waste streams as needed
Prepare and submit annual waste summaries for 3 facilities
Sustainability
Support Pollution Prevention Projects with affected departments
Maintain Pollution Prevention program with state regulatory agency
Prepare and submit Annual Pollution Prevention Progress Reports (APR) for state regulatory agency
Maintain site Pollution Prevention Plans
Manage energy audits and other tools necessary to track sustainability progress
Track and report environmental and sustainability metrics in EHS Smart
ISO 14.001 Environmental Management System
Manage the program and annual inspections, and the tri-annual recertifications.

Implements initiatives that drive continuous improvement in company and regulatory EH&S programs Conducts in-depth analysis (audits, inspections, GEMBAs) of the business for opportunities to determine compliance.
Assesses EHS impacts and supports/develops/implements programs to reduce risk as well as achieve and maintain compliance.
Manages environmental permits and reporting criteria.
Establishes and tracks plans to achieve and maintain compliance and to reduce risk.
Supports business partners' facilities and employee practices to achieve and maintain understanding and compliance with EH&S regulations.
Creates and provides effective training to different levels of the organization.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 5% of the time
Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, Safety, Ergonomics, Risk, Human Resources, Operations, Industrial Engineering or EH&S Consulting field; OR Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Kinesiology, or Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences.
Experience in manufacturing environment ideally in Aerospace industry, with a focus on environmental compliance, standards, regulations and best-practices.
Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Safety Professional (CSP), or Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and DOT training.
Experience championing environmental programs and driving company culture.
Prior experience managing and leading project teams or leading major initiatives.
Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audit process.
Experience using LEAN and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA) ideally improving EH&S recordables, metrics, and culture.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
