General Job Description

The EHS Assistant provides direct support to the EHS Specialist in carrying out day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities. This role includes a combination of production floor presence and administrative support to help maintain accurate records, support safety initiatives, and assist in identifying and addressing workplace hazards. The position plays a key support role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities and programs throughout the facility

• Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to promote safe work practices and identify hazards

• Conduct routine safety inspections and assist in identifying workplace hazards and unsafe conditions

• Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up

• Assist with employee safety orientations, training programs, and safety communication initiatives

• Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and compliance documentation

• Support PPE compliance, safety audits, and overall safety initiatives

• Participate in audits, emergency preparedness activities, and continuous improvement projects

• Help ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety requirements

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• 1-2+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or EHS environment preferred

• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and risk assessment processes

• OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire

• Familiarity with JHAs, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking preferred

• Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support multiple activities simultaneously
