As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Machinists, NC Programmers and Technicians you will setup, operate and maintain world class, state of the art CNC/EDM machines to fabricate components for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of CNC/EDM machining and fabrication. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC/EDM machines and equipment to produce accurate components enabling first article success on tight tolerance, high value parts.

Responsibilities:
Hands on experience in programming and set up of AgieCharmilles, Sodick and Mitsubishi EDM’s.
Interface with area leadership to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
Implement and refine new manufacturing processes.
Assist with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition the product.
Performs daily and regular cleaning including light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
Work with team members and others using Lean/Continuous Improvement processes to develop and utilize process improvements that positively impact operations by reducing waste, reducing safety risks and improving quality.
Utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
Perform other tasks as directed by Supervision/Management including but not limited to assisting non-production plant and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years in working with Wire and Sinker EDM machines.
Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
Must be able to work assigned shift, as well as weekends and overtime, when necessary. (Friday-Sunday 12-hour shifts)
Extensive experience with Okuma, Fanuc, and other CNC controls.
Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
Experience machining nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper.
CNC programming with offline software (Master Cam)
Tooling and fixture design.
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)
Ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skill levels.
Experience machining tight tolerance, high value components.
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $25.82-$36.14Other site ranges may differ
