Job Summary:

Teledyne FLIR is looking for an engineering professional to participate in activities associated with drone development and production testing. This person must be a detail oriented, self-directed individual, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy. This person will participate in a test program associated with both fielded and developmental military drones. We expect this person to have previous experience with test activities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drone flight testing of mature and development products including test methods development

  • Drone software regression testing – extensive test program

  • Support and maintain drone fleet

  • Safely conduct drone flight operations

  • Support production activities and personnel

  • Manage test inventory

  • Interact with internal/external customers and suppliers for hardware/software support

  • Update and maintain product manuals

  • Some travel may be required to test sites, approximately 5-10%

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical of Computer Engineering or similar field

  • 1-5 years of drone flight testing and engineering experience

  • FAA part 107 qualified or equivalent pilot rating a plus

  • Familiar with computer programming and software development methods

  • Willing to work in agile environment with flexible daily tasking based on program needs

  • Basic understanding of quad rotor physics

  • Must have critical thinking skills and be able to make risk-based decisions

  • Excellent communication skills
