JOB SUMMARY:

Operate a light delivery/panel truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and finished products. To service customers in the local area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must meet the deliverydeadlinesespecially ontimeairport deliveries. Needs to know the main road and alternative roads to meet the mandatory deadline
  • Loadstruckswith packages scheduled for the day's deliveries.
  • Determinesmostefficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed.Consultswith supervisor about any unusual problems.
  • Delivers packages and gets receiving slips signed.
  • Uses cellphones to report on progress of deliveries.
  • Picks up returns and items for use by the company. Verifies goods received against packing slips andsignsreceipt. 
  • Maintains simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.
  • Follows maintenance schedulefor havingtruckserviced.Takesother vehicles for service when instructed to do so. Reports any mechanical problems tosupervisor.
  • Assistsing general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route.
  • Read and work from checklists, schedules, service requests, logs,drawingsor instructions to perform assigned tasks. Respond to service requests and follow production instructions to ensure work quality.
  • Maintain valid State Driver’s License witha good drivingrecord and required insurance.
  • Must be able to work the schedule provided from 1pm to approximately 9:30pm or later
  • Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks.Verifiesmaterials being shipped are as ordered. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services. Leads the work of shipping performing related work.

  • Maintain safe workareaandcomply withsafety procedures while performing the work.
  • Conduct business at all timeswith the highest standards of personal,professionaland ethical conduct.
  • Mayparticipatein any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolveproblemsandmaintainspecified level of knowledgepertaining tonew developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform orassistwith any range of special projects,tasksand other related duties as assigned tomaintainworkflow and meet schedules.

SKILLS:

  • Must meet the delivery deadlines especially on time airport deliveries
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Must know the main and alternative roads to meet delivery deadlines
  • Ability toutilizevarious production tools and equipment
  • Requires detail orientation and attention
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to Speak Spanish Preferred. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works under indoor conditions and exposed to elements including but not limited to, weather, chemicals, odor, weather and environmental conditions. The employee must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, and must be able to sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hands and arms, work in difficult positions and lift up to 30 lbs. The incumbent must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.

  • There will be (2) airport runs from Norcross to Atlanta International every workday
  • Hours will be 1:00pm-9:30pm M-F
