**Drafting Manager
** to oversee drafting operations, establish design standards, manage workflow, and support engineering and manufacturing teams through high-quality CAD documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
**Summary
**
The Drafting Manager is responsible for leading a team of designers and drafters while overseeing engineering drawings, 3D models, drafting standards, workflow management, and document control. This position partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project management to deliver accurate, high-quality design documentation and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
**
Lead, mentor, train, and develop a team of drafters and designers.
Establish and maintain drafting standards, templates, libraries, and best practices.
Manage drafting workloads, assign projects, and ensure on-time project completion.
Oversee the creation and review of engineering drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
Manage drawing revisions, document control, and PDM/PLM release processes.
Support engineering teams with design changes, ECOs, and manufacturing documentation.
Coordinate with manufacturing, fabrication, machining, purchasing, assembly, and quality teams.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve drafting accuracy and workflow efficiency.
Identify opportunities for CAD automation, iLogic development, macros, and BOM improvements.
Ensure compliance with internal drafting standards, revision control, and document management systems.

Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, or a related discipline preferred.
7+ years of drafting or design experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
3+ years of leadership experience managing drafting or design teams.
Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
Experience creating assemblies, sheet metal drawings, detailing, and BOM workflows.
Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, welding, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with PDM/PLM systems such as Vault, Windchill, Teamcenter, or SolidWorks PDM.
Knowledge of GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and industry drafting standards.
Strong organizational, leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
