Overview
District Sales Manager (DSM) manages a specific territory, customers in that territory and specific bids for those customers. The DSM is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships as well as staying on top of the current market conditions, competition and New Millennium pricing strategies. This position is for the Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada territories.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers
- Prospecting to seek and find new customers
- Educate the market on New Millennium products
- Communication and coordination with internal personnel
- Track quote data and sales performance with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software - Salesforce
- Develop strategic industry relationships beyond customer base.
- Follow up and feedback on bid projects
- Set yearly goals and objectives with Sales Manager
- Scheduled travel throughout assigned territory on a regular basis
- Attend various company meetings as required
Qualifications
Required:
- Live in / relocate to Salt Lake City, UT area.
- Must be organized and able to manage time effectively
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to read construction documents, specs, addendums, etc.
- Ability to multi-task, negotiate and close deals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PDF software, ftp sites, etc.
- Willingness to travel extensively
Preferred:
- Prior sales experience
- Familiarity with Steel Joist Institute (SJI), Steel Deck Institute (SDI) and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) standards
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. – Salesforce)
- Experience in the steel industry
