Job Overview:

Description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for our next District Engineer. This position will be reporting to the Regional VP/GM and will be responsible for supporting the Midwest region’s operations by providing solutions to operational excellence objectives. This position’s primary responsibilities will include improving plant and product availability, safety, scheduling and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects throughout multiple sites within the division.
  • Lead and engage teams to improve processes for operational excellence.
  • Managing and analyzing all data, records and equipment histories to ensure accurate and consistent tracking.
  • Troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis.
  • Complete responsibilities while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Presenting audit findings to management team on operational findings and suggest improvement.
  • Understanding safety rules and policies to create dashboards, forms of reporting and presenting analytics.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Mining Engineering or Construction Management
  • 2+ years of project management/related experience
  • Competency in operation processes, and the ability to manage and implement change
  • Experience analyzing aggregate operational performance data.
  • Experience designing and creating Tableau reports for KPI performance data evaluation.
  • Experience modeling surface limestone, underground limestone, and sand/gravel processing plant flows with AggFlow preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of the aggregates production process
  • Previous experience developing and executing new projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications; relationship building as well as presentation skills to present project concepts and manage change at all levels within the company
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Continuous improvement experience (six sigma, lean, agile, etc.) experience highly preferred
  • Highly skilled in use of Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and other productivity tools

Work Environment

This job operates 20% of the time in mining locations to include quarries, mines and remote offices. 80% of the time will be in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.

Travel

Travel will be frequent and primarily within the division. Out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, bending and stooping, working from a elevated position and the ability to drive.

This is a full-time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work. Occasional travel will be required.
