Overview
Responsible and accountable for the business unit level support and leadership as it relates to the company’s distribution capabilities, delivery cost, and management of all business unit distribution personnel. Management oversight includes the daily functions of the entire distribution system commencing with the acquisition of product from manufacturing and finalizing with the customer deliveries and service components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline required
- Minimum of 5 years significant, direct, and practical Distribution Management experience in food/beverage, logistics, consumer products, or manufacturing industry utilizing DSD delivery model required
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology highly preferred

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships in order to drive company strategy and efficient methods in achieving the lowest landed cost possible.
- Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks and removing obstacles.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex sets of data and make business recommendations based on analysis.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with capital and working budgets, P&L, DOT compliance, and fleet optimization required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and in a variety of cultures.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Class A commercial driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide resources and guidance to all distribution employees as it relates to consolidation of branches and routes, route profitability, efficiencies, fleet repairs, quality of fleet, and DOT compliance.
- Provide company with effective and efficient customer service models.
- Partnering with Fleet Manager, manage processes to ensure the business unit has a viable and well maintained fleet, develop fleet replacement cycles, capital requirements, and priorities of asset redeployment.
- Provide guidance and assistance in the preparation of capital and operating budgets to direct reports to ensure company standards and goals are encapsulated within the business unit.
- Implement and drive process consistency and cross functional collaboration utilizing Continuous Improvement methodology that results in process improvement and cost saving initiatives.
- Build a high achieving distribution team capable of sustaining the company’s profitability, goals, and vision.
- Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership team.
- Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.
- Benchmark and set targets for overall distribution performance and personnel.
- Maintain an understanding of go-to market strategies based on customer demands, manufacturing capabilities, and storage capacities.
