Job Overview:

Reporting to the VP of Procurement you will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on procurement cost savings projects through detailed technical and financial negotiations, contract management and supplier relationship development. You will lead a team in the management of Resin spend across the Conagra Brands organization. Emphasis will be on driving sourcing strategies, developing a world class supply base, driving cost savings and improving on level of service provided to the corporation. Lead procurement support of company functions including, but not limited to: Resin Procurement, Packaging Sustainability Projects and Packaging Strategy.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage Resin Category

  • Jointly plan and execute sourcing strategies in the assigned categories in collaboration with functions across the Enterprise.

  • Establish strategic relationships with the supply base, to achieve cost savings opportunities across the business.

  • Negotiate, contract, and implement preferred supplier agreements.

  • Lead cross functional teams in sourcing projects.

  • Research market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend to enhance future negotiations for assigned categories.

  • Provide clear position reporting. Facilitate ease of use and consistent application of volume estimates.

  • Draft Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and conduct associated analysis.

  • Assure the service and quality requirements of ConAgra Brands are met, along with the required innovation and product improvements.

  • Proactively work with Operations and Brands to resolve all supply chain issues.

  • Resolve supplier and internal customer issues to insure a successful implementation process.

  • Improve cost savings through continuous improvement activities.

  • Manage supplier relationships and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate and report performance.

  • Ensure continuity of services for assigned categories by working with high quality suppliers and managing supplier performance.

  • Collaborate with cross functional groups in each of the operating groups.

  • Understand advanced sourcing practices and their application. Provide organizational leadership in developing new approaches to new technology.

  • Develop and maintain positive, productive, proactive relationships with several suppliers and operating company personnel.

  • Implement supplier strategy using industry modeling and appropriate metrics across ConAgra Foods.

  • Develop, manage and execute the holistic packaging strategy, in conjunction with other substrate leads and cross functional partners, for the entire packaging category.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10 + years experience in Procurement

  • Experience with procurement/strategic sourcing end-user expectations and requirements.

  • Understand and proficiency in futures and options to support Conagra's risk management activities.

  • Demonstrated strengths in conflict management.

  • A process leader who has the skills to lead in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Food Industry experience desirable.

  • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and tasks.

  • Self-starter with experience implementing/executing complex projects.

  • Experience with Excel and ERP systems.

  • Analytical, creative thinking, and clear communications.
