Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Director of Finance who will be working under the Chief Financial Officer. The Director of Finance oversees the Financial and Accounting Department and manages the business financial reporting, budgets, and internal control processes. Partners with senior management in defining the site Finance and Accounting strategic plan. Ensures financial business processes are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including GAAP accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecast preparation.

Job Accountabilities:
- Oversees the accounting team (financial reporting, budgets, and internal processes) by providing structure, while ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Accurately reports the financial results and financial statements of the organization’s operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Ensures timely and complete financial statements and oversees the preparation of the corporate annual report. Manages all accounting operations, while monitoring costs and capital expenditure
- Partners with other senior management in defining the site Finance and Accounting strategic plan, while ensuring the maximization of the company’s financial performance
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Directs the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Annual preparation of the company budget
- Analysis of financial results compared with budget, prior year, and prior month
- Responsible for:
- Cash management
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis
- Monitoring debt level and compliance with debt covenants
- Company audit and provision of information to external auditors
- Maintaining effective internal controls, accounting procedures, and processes
- Providing financial analyses, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Advising management in interpreting and utilizing managerial accounting information
- Gathering and analyzes data to inform commercial pricing decisions; validates accuracy and integrity to ensure competitive proposals and pricing decisions
- Preparing reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations
- Facilitating month end close within 5 business days.
- Responsible for hiring and terminating subordinate employees (or effectively recommending such decisions). Handling employee complaints and grievances; staff mentoring, coaching, counseling, training, disciplining employees, assigning work among employees, and providing for the safety and security of the employees
- Directing employees’ work and establishing and adjust hours of work as needed
- Establishes priorities and workflow within the department; identifies root cause, conducts analysis, and resolves issues with appropriate resources departments and/or action plans
- Provides staff with standards of performance, job responsibilities, and job expectations
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar degree. Accounting Certification (CPA / CMA).
Years’ Experience: Requires five (5) years’ recent relevant experience and three (3) years of experience in a managerial role in a finance environment required.
Skills:
- Possesses advanced knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and analysis; acquired through work experience in increasingly complex roles (i.e. Cost Accounting Operations Knowledge).
- Ability to define and execute a Finance and Accounting strategic plan to ensure the maximization of the company’s financial performance.
- Ability to anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make recommendations.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication, presentation, and facilitator skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization exercising sensitivity to the audience.

- Manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to travel to all Applied Composites locations and/or client locations as needed
