As the Director of Engineering, Industrial Edge and Cloud Applications, you will lead a global engineering organization delivering industrial grade edge and cloud hardware and software solutions. You will be part of Emerson’s Measurement Solutions business, providing precision pressure, temperature, level, and flow instruments and applications that enable our customers to monitor and control critical industrial processes, enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability. You will combine technical leadership, architectural vision, and people leadership to advance Emerson’s industrial edge and cloud strategy, shaping secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support customers worldwide.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
• Lead and develop global engineering teams responsible for Linux based embedded edge gateway hardware, firmware, and supporting platforms.
• Guide the development of industrial analytics, predictive diagnostics, visualization solutions, and device management applications.
• Define and influence the future direction of cloud ready architectures, cloud deployment models, and secure edge to cloud data integration.
• Align and integrate software roadmaps across gateways, edge applications, and analytics platforms to ensure cohesive delivery and long term scalability.
• Champion engineering excellence through modern development practices, including continuous integration and delivery for embedded and Linux systems, automated testing, and robust cybersecurity practices.

For This Role, You Will Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading global or multi regional teams.
• Strong technical background in embedded Linux systems and industrial equipment, including industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with analytics and diagnostics applications, as well as emerging cloud deployment approaches.
• Proven ability to deliver industrial grade products with long lifecycles and high reliability requirements.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
• MBA
• Hands on experience with edge to cloud architectures, industrial gateways, and condition monitoring or asset health platforms.
• Experience developing products implementing the WirelessHART communication protocol.
• Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC 62443) and reliability or functional safety standards.
• Experience leading a mix of internal and offshore engineering teams.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $170,000-$230,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
