The Director, Internal Communications will serve as the owner of strategy and management of internal communications. This role will develop a world-class team that helps inspire and inform our team members around the world with the right information, at the right time, helping drive Micron culture and meaningful connection to our business. This role reports to Micron’s Corporate Vice President of Global Communications and Marketing.

Success in this role will require leading the assessment, creation, and implementation of internal company-wide communication strategy to drive employee engagement in alignment with Micron’s vision, mission, and values. Partnering directly with the Executive Team, People organization and other corporate functions as well as the broader Global Communications and Marketing team, this leader will develop, integrate and implement programs and tactics across all internal communications channels including Micron’s intranet portal, MicronNow. This leader will create a strategy for expanded impact of Micron executive voices including ownership for strategy for all digital communications that reach and engage employees globally. This leader will lead the integration of culture into every Micron communication across the company.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Leadership and development of the Internal Communications including resource management, hiring, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Delivery of a comprehensive internal communication strategy that drives employee engagement and meaningful connection to the company’s strategy and broader organization strategy.

  • Delivery of a robust executive, leader and organization communication practice that engages senior-level executives and leaders throughout the company helping them to more effectively communicate to team members.

  • Management of all internal executive communication forums across the company.

  • Management of Micron’s internal editorial as part of a broader editorial strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Communications or related discipline. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

  • 15+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications, employee communications and / or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations with preference for experience within technology companies.

  • Demonstrated experience building, developing and leading high-performance teams.

  • Proven management skills including internal executive communications engagement, strategy planning, budgeting, and first and second level management experience.

  • World class writing skills.

  • Strong collaboration skills with a team-first mindset.
