Job Overview:

 

DESCRIPTION:

The Facilities Director is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of facilities across all FM Industries manufacturing sites covering California and Arizona, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, compliance, and infrastructure reliability. This role oversees environmental compliance, space planning, and vendor relationships to optimize facility performance and support business objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Multi-Site Facilities Management: Develop and implement a unified facilities strategy to ensure operational consistency, efficiency, and best practices across all locations.
  • Infrastructure & Asset Management: Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of buildings, utilities, and critical infrastructure to maximize uptime and functionality.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements, promoting workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Capital Projects & Budgeting: Lead capital improvement projects, manage facility-related budgets, and recommend investments in infrastructure improvements.
  • Vendor & Contractor Oversight: Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure high-quality service delivery for maintenance, security, and facility services.
  • Energy & Sustainability Initiatives: Implement cost-effective energy management and sustainability strategies, focusing on efficiency and environmental responsibility.
  • Emergency Preparedness & Risk Management: Develop and maintain contingency plans for emergency situations, ensuring business continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide strategic direction to site-level facility managers, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Space Planning & Utilization: Oversee workspace planning, optimizing facility layouts to enhance productivity and accommodate growth needs.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in facility management, ideally in a manufacturing environment, with multi-site oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, infrastructure, maintenance best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in capital project planning, budgeting, and operational efficiency strategies.
  • Experience managing contracts, vendors, and service agreements across multiple locations.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
