Job Overview:

DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for Engineering and Programming functions. Defines, establishes, and enforces corporate policies and procedures. Provides technical support for internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Engineering team
  • Manage Manufacturing Engineering 
  • Assign work to direct reports, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems
  • Identify department training needs and provide for appropriate training of employees
  • Manage CNC Programming
  • Manage Document Control
  • Identify and maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Develop and enforce implement and enforce ISO relevant Procedures
  • Implement and enforce technical information exchange
  • Manage process improvement activities
  • Manage cost reduction projects
  • Technical liaison for customer
  • Project management
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Certified Engineering manager
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Project management
  • Lean Enterprise Solutions

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BA or BS in Engineering 
  • 10-15 years experience in a contemporary CNC environment, ideally within the semiconductor industry (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management
  • Computer literate including, but no limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Analytical/writing skills
  • Ability to plan and manage complex projects
  • Ability to plan and execute presentations to large groups of people

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally walking

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

  • The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes) when entering the shop floor area.
