We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard—from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we work to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, helping shape the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Dimensional Matching Process Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving Body-in-White (BIW) and General Assembly (GA) matching processes to ensure robust dimensional quality throughout the product development cycle. This role advances both physical and virtual matching capabilities, supports the development of cross-functional dimensional best practices, and drives consistent execution of matching processes across vehicle programs.

  • Investigate and implement upstream virtual matching methods using advanced scanning technologies.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline legacy ETAC/ITAC activities through virtual validation.

  • Leverage 3D scanning technologies and virtual tools to support dimensional investigations and root cause analysis.

  • Lead the GQC Dimensional Leaders Huddle to roll out new and updated processes to matching teams and drive continuous process improvement discussions.

  • Maintain the GQC Dimensional Matching SharePoint site and related process documentation.

  • Partner cross-functionally to support the adoption of dimensional best practices across programs.

  • Support the consistent application of matching strategies across both development and production environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and datum strategies.

  • Knowledge of check fixture strategies and dimensional data collection methods.

  • Familiarity with interior and exterior trim parts and associated build strategies.

  • Knowledge of BIW manufacturing, welding, and fabrication processes.

  • High proficiency in scanning technologies and metrology software.

  • Proficiency in Teamcenter and/or Visualization Mockup.

  • Familiarity with dimensional matching strategies for BIW and GA.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings with senior leadership to communicate processes, recommendations, and changes.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret dimensional data and drive actionable insights.
