Dimensional Control Engineer Exteriors

Job Summary:

Our client in Troy, MI is looking for a Dimensional Control Engineer Exteriors. This is a contract position.

In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for the development, design, and execution of all aspects of dimensional control—collaborating closely with Product Engineering and Manufacturing/Operations teams to establish a robust, integrated strategy across product, subassembly, component, and process levels. What you get to do:

·       Be an integral part of an energetic team that’s challenging the status quo of vehicle design.

·       Develop and implement all strategies for datum and dimensional control.

·       Manage all aspects related to dimensional control during both the design and manufacturing phases.

·       Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements and timelines.

Responsibilities:

·       Lead the design, development, and implementation of the Datum and Dimensional Control Strategy for our company.

·       Collaborate with suppliers/partners and internal departments to execute the company Datum and Dimensional Contral Strategy and GD&T component requirements.

·       Communicate with all stakeholders to balance and maintain program timing, performance, and budget.

·       Deliver a Datum and Dimensional Control Strategy and process that meets overall product performance requirements, CAPEX and Opex targets, as well as uptime, quality, and customer

·       Develop production execution of the Datum and Dimensional Control Strategy including product requirements, process documents, tooling specifications and standards, as well as document lessons learned for future programs and drive continuous improvement.

·       Contribute cross-functionally to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the product/process development system.

·       Respond to executive team/internal team inquiries and cross functional issues to arrive at the best enterprise-wide balanced solution.

Qualifications

·       Experience in executing Datum and Dimensional Control Strategy for an automotive

·       Experience in dimensional control/datum strategy/GD&T/quality systems/tooling/operations

·       Ability to implement new and innovative manufacturing processes and
