Duties/Responsibilities

• Setup, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color digital press equipment and responsible for performance and quality.
• Run job after approval and make sure job is up to standard. Maintain quality specifications during press operation. Effectively and efficiently able to multi-task and operate multiple digital presses and copiers at same time and produce quality print work
• Efficiently produce/output digital proofing materials
• Remove materials and perform cleanup of digital presses and related equipment post production
• Records sheet counts and material usage details as well as maintaining plates provided or coordinating plate replacements and maintaining inks for production
• Self-motivated and aware of quality control and maintaining critical color values and stock specifications
• Follows management direction/instructions, able to provide quality feedback, operating suggestions and doesn’t require constant oversight
• Able to perform/maintain registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on various digital presses and copiers as well as maintain the equipment, makes minor repairs, and replaces worn or broken parts.
• Make necessary adjustments to determine press set up according to work order
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
• Troubleshoot print-quality and press-quality issues
• Replace consumables and maintain the proper inventory supply
• Retrieve and stage stock
• Efficiently operate appropriate machinery needed in order to transport print products between departments

Qualifications

Educational/Training Requirement:

• HS Diploma or GED, trade/vocational school preferred

Experience:

• Previous print production and Indigo experience is preferred
• 2-4 years of digital/sheetfed press related experience preferred
• Knowledge of equipment mechanics and capabilities

Licenses/Certifications:

• Minimum of Level 1 HP certified operator is a highly recommended

Preferred Education and Experience

• Technical School training and experience in print industry preferred
• Previous knowledge or experience of print industry preferred
• High End quality controlled commercial printing experience
• Experience with HP or Digital Print systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in Operation of Basic Computer Skills
• Good Problem Solving and color matching skills
• Good mathematical ability including good understanding of measurements
• Ability to troubleshoot and mechanically inclined.
• Knowledge/familiarity with shop floor data collection methods including labor/material entries
