Job Overview:

About the Role

Talent Clout is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for our client, a leading oilfield services company, to support its cementing operations fleet. You'll work mainly out of the Shreveport shop, repairing and maintaining tractors, trucks, and trailers. From time to time you'll travel to the Valley View, TX location for field repairs. This role suits an experienced heavy truck technician who wants steady rotation work. Oilfield experience is a plus but not required, because the client will train you on its equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and repair tractor-trailers and heavy trucks, including 18-wheelers.
  • Perform DOT repairs and inspections to keep units compliant and road-ready.
  • Repair air brake systems, brakes, seals, and lighting.
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, including crank/no-start conditions.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems and transmissions.
  • Complete preventive maintenance, including diesel engine oil changes and routine service.
  • Use diagnostic software such as Cummins INSITE, PACCAR Davie, and Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink (DDDL).
  • Document repairs and complete work orders on a laptop.
  • Respond to occasional emergency call-ins to support operations.

What You Need

  • At least 2 years of mechanic experience on tractor-trailers or heavy trucks. Automotive or light-vehicle experience alone does not qualify.
  • Hands-on experience with DOT repairs, air brakes, and diesel engine diagnostics.
  • Your own tools (required).
  • A valid driver's license. No CDL is required; the role involves driving company pickups.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to work a 15/6 rotation with 12-hour day shifts and occasional on-call needs.

Preferred

  • A diesel or heavy truck technical school certificate. This is preferred, not required; strong experience counts.
  • Oilfield or energy-sector fleet experience.
  • Experience at a heavy truck dealership or fleet service center.

Travel & Lodging

Non-local candidates are welcome on a rotator basis. Travel and lodging are provided.
