Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines, aftertreatment systems (DPF, DEF, SCR), and electronic control systems.
- Identify root causes of performance issues using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink, CAT ET).
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, CAN bus systems, and multiplexing issues.
Mechanical Repair & Maintenance
- Conduct major engine repairs and overhauls, including injectors, turbochargers, fuel systems, and valve adjustments.
- Service and repair transmissions (automatic & manual), clutches, differentials, and driveline components.
- Perform brake system repairs (air brakes, ABS, slack adjusters) in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Handle suspension, steering, and chassis repairs on heavy‑duty trucks and trailers.
Preventive Maintenance
- Execute full PM inspections, lubrication services, and DOT required inspections.
- Document all service, parts, and labor with accuracy and detail.
- Identify potential failures and recommend corrective action to prevent breakdowns.
Technical & Safety Compliance
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Ensure all repairs meet OEM specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.
