Job Title: Die Setter
All Shifts
Starting Pay: $23
Job Summary:
Reports to the Tool & Mold Supervisor. The Die Setter will perform tasks to install tooling for casting process as well as identifying and correcting problems.
Responsibilities
- Removes and installs Molds, Trim dies, Staging Fixtures, EOAT, Unloader, Quench from the VRC/PRC casting machines including complete set-up of molds, cooling circuits, fill tubes, etc. and mold preparation.
- Observes and practices all lockout/tagout requirements for casters.
- Operate fork truck and overhead crane to move Tooling.
- Observes machines and equipment for malfunction and adjustments or repairs as directed to ensure the equipment will operate at maximum efficiency, within operating parameters, safely and correctly.
- Tracks and documents productivity information accurately as directed.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Utilize checklist and prepare required documents
- Perform 5 whys when analyzing mistakes or ideas.
- Identify molds that need to be repaired.
- Utilize measurement instruments to perform job.
- Perform -Tear downs of molds
- Sand blast Lower and Cover mold cavities
- Power Wash Support Tooling, EOAT-Unloaders.
- Cleaned and Paint Tool Shop
- Other duties as assigned.
Academic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience
- Must be able to read and understand work instructions.
- Must be able to write and complete required paperwork.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to solve problems, identify and correct mistakes.
- Must be team oriented.
- Must possess mechanical aptitude.
- Must pass and receive a mobile equipment and overhead crane license.
- Ability to use torches.
- Must have excellent attendance, safety, and disciplinary record.
