Position Overview

A well-established manufacturer is seeking experienced Die Repair Technicians to repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies. This hands-on role requires strong troubleshooting, welding, grinding, polishing, and production-tooling experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble casting and trim dies.
  • Use cranes, lift trucks, and die-cleaning equipment safely.
  • Build and replace die segments, cores, details, trim punches, and related components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, pictorials, and work instructions.
  • Grind, polish, and restore die-cavity surfaces.
  • Remove stuck castings and correct dimensional or tooling problems.
  • Repair dies while mounted in production equipment when required.
  • Perform welding in the die-repair department and manufacturing areas.
  • Troubleshoot production-tooling failures and complete necessary repairs.
  • Complete die work orders, inspection records, and maintenance documentation.
  • Train and assist less-experienced employees as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

  • At least two years of die repair, tool and die, mold repair, or related skilled-trades experience.
  • Experience repairing or rebuilding casting dies, trim dies, or production tooling.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with welding, grinding, polishing, fitting, and die assembly.
  • Ability to operate cranes, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical-school training in Tool and Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Journeyperson Tool and Die certification or equivalent skilled-trades experience.
  • Experience supporting die-casting or foundry operations.
  • Experience training or mentoring other die-repair employees.
