-Repairs stamping dies by performing the following duties:

  • Assist in continuous improvement or upgrades of progressive dies.
  • Analyzes parts on stamping gages and makes correct die adjustments.
  • Understands and interprets CMM layouts when performing die adjustments.
  • Performs die PM on benches and identifies damage or excessive wear problems.
  • Sharpens die details and shims as necessary to maintain correct timing, shear, and stagger.
  • Understands die sensors and performs die adjustments to maintain proper function.
  • Understands nitrogen cylinders, pad pressure adjustments, manifold pressures.
  • Diagnoses and corrects scrap mark problems.
  • Trouble shoots problems of die in the press.
  • Make new die details as needed. (Die section, punch, etc.)
  • Repairs cracked / welded die details.
  • Operates machines tools as required (mill, surface grinder, lathe, profiler).
  • Records time worked on PM data base

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ORGANIZED WORK ENVIRONMENT - Keep workstation and the area around your workstation neat and orderly.
  • INSPECTION AND RECORD KEEPING - Understand and follow all quality instructions, work instructions and procedures. Must be adept at using and understanding micrometers, calipers, and process gages. Accurately and legibly record required documentation.
  • SAFETY - Understand and properly use all safety devices at all times, including safety blocks.
  • "TEAMWORK" ATTITUDE - Must be capable of working as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to support group decisions. Must have the ability to teach and train operators.

License/Certification:
