Position: Class A Die Repair Technician

Schedule: 1st or 3rd Shift

Hours: Approximately 50–55 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Class A Die Repair Technician to join our automotive manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving Class A stamping dies used in the automotive industry.

This position is ideal for a skilled die repair professional who takes pride in producing quality work, solving complex tooling issues, and keeping production running efficiently. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, diagnosing problems under production pressure, and collaborating with production, engineering, and tooling teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify Class A automotive stamping dies

  • Diagnose die-related issues and determine the appropriate corrective action

  • Perform die tryouts, adjustments, spotting, and repairs to ensure proper part quality

  • Work from blueprints, die prints, engineering drawings, and specifications

  • Repair and replace damaged or worn die components

  • Perform welding, grinding, fitting, machining, and other die repair operations as needed

  • Make die adjustments to correct dimensional, cosmetic, and production issues

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement of dies

  • Work closely with production and engineering to resolve tooling issues and minimize downtime

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

  • Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience repairing and troubleshooting Class A dies in the automotive industry

  • Strong understanding of automotive stamping dies and tooling

  • Experience diagnosing and correcting die-related production issues

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, die drawings, and engineering specifications

  • Proficient with hand tools, precision measuring equipment, grinders, welders, and other die repair equipment

  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on production needs

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to work approximately 50–55 hours per week

  • Willingness to work 1st or 3rd shift
