Job Overview:

Join our skilled Die Maintenance team to troubleshoot, repair, weld, finish, reassemble, and return production dies and tooling to service.

Aluminum die casting experience is highly preferred. Candidates with stamping die maintenance, TIG welding, die assembly, troubleshooting, and hands-on repair experience are also encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot and repair die-cast and injection molding, stamping dies, and production tooling
  • Disassemble tooling; identify worn, damaged, or failed components
  • TIG weld, grind, finish, fit, adjust, and polish tooling and components
  • Reassemble dies and verify proper fit and function
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Respond to production issues and identify die-related causes
  • Partner with Production and Quality; support continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman’s card or at least 5 years of documented related trade experience
  • Hands-on die maintenance, die repair, tooling repair, or closely related experience
  • Welding experience applicable to tooling repair; TIG strongly preferred
  • Ability to safely disassemble, repair, fit, and reassemble dies or complex tooling
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and basic math skills
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and maintain close tolerances
  • Team-oriented, detail-focused, and available for 2nd shift (Sunday start, 3 PM to 11:30 PM)

Experience We Value Most

Priority backgrounds include:

  1. Die Cast / Aluminum Casting: troubleshooting, welding, repair, polishing, fitting, and rebuilding die-cast tooling
  2. Stamping Die Maintenance: maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding dies
  3. Other Tool & Die: hands-on disassembly, welding/repair, fitting, finishing, reassembly, and troubleshooting

Important Distinction

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing production dies and tooling—not primarily manufacturing individual components.

Candidates with mainly CNC, lathe, mill, EDM, jig/fixture, or component-making experience must also demonstrate hands-on die troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, welding, fitting, and reassembly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aluminum die-cast tooling maintenance, TIG welding
  • Stamping/injection mold die maintenance
  • Complete die teardown and rebuilds
  • Grinding, fitting, finishing, and polishing repaired tooling
  • Formal Tool & Die training and production tooling support

Benefits

  • Health, prescription, vision, and dental coverage with low employee contributions
  • Paid vacation in the first year
  • 5% 401(k) match and discretionary company bonus
  • Tuition reimbursement and opportunities for performance-based growth
  • Short-term disability and optional life insurance
  • Retiree medical account
