Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) Need a Diamond Turning Technician to work in Boulder CO area. * This position offers a variety of great benefits.*
We are presently seeking a ** Diamond Turning Technician** who will operate single-point diamond turning equipment in the production flow of low to high-volume jobs.
Main responsibilities:
Working knowledge of geometry and trigonometry
Perform mechanical inspections using micrometers, optical comparators, dial indicators, and drop gauges to ensure components meet specifications with diameter, sag, and center thickness
Read and interpret complex prints to determine tolerances and specifications
Operate and maintain diamond turning equipment for the precision manufacturing of infrared optical lenses and metal mirrors
Adjust, understand programming, set up, and operate state-of-the-art lathe equipment
Understands the effect of feed rate, depth of cut, spindle speeds and their effect on quality with different materials
Responsible for cleaning and visually inspecting diamond-turned optical components, ensuring compliance with ISO and MIL standards for surface quality and dimensional accuracy
Inspects, maintains, and handles single-point diamond tools, knowledgeable in tool features, application, and proper use
Optical metrology skills, including calibration and operation of interferometers and surface profilometers (e.g., Form Talysurf) for form error and surface roughness inspection of lenses and mirrors
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
7 year's optics diamond turning or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
Basic Math skills
Teamwork – the ability to work effectively and contribute to a team
CNC lathe experience is preferred
Utilizes good communication and interpersonal skill
Knowledge with DiffSys tool path software or similar
Familiar with G&M code, modification of tool path, and use call programs as needed
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Windows

Pay Range: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience.
