Business Understanding:

The Assy Process Industrialisation professional is an upper middle level position & involves the employee to be responsible for the complete designing of the Production Assy line & ensuring that it meets the Capacity, Quality, Safety & Ergonomic requirement & supporting Indian Manufacturing group on Industrial Engineering needs.

Specialist in Product Assy Process :

Specifying, Implementing & Qualifying the Manufacturing Process & Equipment in compliance with SPS Principles.

For new offer, ensures the Product Assy feasibility. For mfg, contributes strongly to the Continuous Improvement actions for the Process & Equipment.

Bring his/her technical expertise within local industrialization team or local mfg Engg team. Select, Validate, Introduce & Standardize New Assy technologies/processes locally. Development of New Layouts & also improvement of Current layouts, Vendor Support functions, Lean Mfg , Value Stream Approach, Cost reductions, Execution of New Projects,

Specialist in Product Selections in

Conveyor selections, Pneumatics, Robots Integration, Pick and Place, Servo slides Selection, Tooling & testing equipment’s, Gluing, UV Curing, Bowel feeder & Tightening Equipment selection, Welding, Laser Marking & Camera Inspections

Skilled in innovative, precise, cost-effective solution for meeting the technical challenges.

Specialist in Product and Process Design FMEA,

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor.

Understands customer process requirements, product requirements and provide technical solution.

Manufacturing Supply Chain & Planning

Manufacturing Diagnostic

·       Ability to identify, analyze and implement improvements to the technical limit of our manufacturing process.

Manufacturing New Product Design

·       Ability to apply Design for Assembly and Manufacturing approach in new product design (design simplification- PY - feasibility - testability - manufacturing scenario) to optimize new product manufacturability and its manufacturing cost.

·       Prepares Manufacturing Process Specification document as key deliverable within PMP process n Approves designs to ensure manufacturability or test capability (approval criteria includes geometry, material specification, surface finish, assembly, test & adjustment) n Influences the designs to optimize the manufacturing process and minimize manufacturing cost and investment n Identifies current and future state opportunities (Identifies improvement levers, SWOT analysis) n Establish formal product cost data and investment and provides reports on product cost evolution compared to targets n Conducts risk analysis as it relates to design and process alternatives and the impact to product cost, schedule, and project cost and provides detailed financial analysis of investment alternatives

·        Coaches others on effective application of tolerance standards, material, process and technology alternatives options n Serves as physical and information process architect for larger projects with multiple design and process components to ensure effective product design, process and system architecture (be able to compare different product architectures and define each other industrial profitability) n Able to provides product cost estimation, coordination and financial analysis of alternatives for larger programs and in OTM n Leads the risk assessment and reporting process

Manufacturing Process & Lay-Out Design

·       Ability to design and implement manufacturing processes for new offers allowing the best operational performance in safety and environment, quality, service, costs and capital engaged.

·       Able to apply SPS principles to manufacturing process & layout design n Autonomously Designs physical and information processes, across a facility with multiple work centers n Specifies and procures tooling, assembly systems and equipment n Drives continuous improvement based on Lean (SPS) principles (VSM approach) n Understands and uses manufacturing execution systems and manufacturing software n Utilizes simulation modeling to optimize processes and flows with assistance n Implements Total Preventive Maintenance concepts in new process design

Manufacturing Equipment Design

·       Ability to develop specifications, approve designs, realize and qualify manufacturing equipment/tooling.

·       Specifies manufacturing equipment and qualification plan to a level that all potential suppliers have the same understanding n Identifies project risk areas, assesses supplier capabilities and select best qualified suppliers n Prepares financial analysis and executes project for procurement n Works with supplier to develop project timeline and performance criteria and ensures that equipment capabilities are adequate (able to validate the different stages of a equipment realization: design review, external/internal acceptance) n Assesses actual progress of supplier and provides timely communication of project budget, schedule and performance criteria n Manage autonomously an new equipment qualification (includes validation of safety and ergonomics) in supplier premises and within the manufacturing facility

·       Provides and challenges supplier with equipment design solutions optimizing performance or cost n Coaches others on how to evaluate performance of equipment against performance criteria and evaluates at the earliest opportunity n Able to provide others technical support in equipment design or equipment set up phases n Ensures supplier addresses potential risk areas early in project timeline n Identify potential equipment reliability issues and/or costly maintenance issues and works with supplier to resolve (Mean FMEA approach)

Quality Control and Inspection

·       Ability to measure the quality with incoming materials and components, manufactured products, including software testing, and finished goods.

·       Identifies key part/assembly attributes to control n Familiar with SPC systems and Poka-Yoke methodology n Understands products and the acceptable quality levels (e.g. Cp/ Cpk) for given part/assembly characteristics n Conducts simple Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies n Has basic knowledge of sampling plans and procedures

·        Able to identify key process inputs and develop process audits n Able to identify and manage development (including GR&R) of routine gages and measurement equipment n Able to identify key characteristics during print reviews (parts/ assemblies) and identify the needed quality tools to verify those characteristics n Able to assess most capability analyses and understand the needed capabilities to meet quality/customer needs n Able to develop and implement functional acceptance tests (FAT) based on customer requirements n Able to develop Quality Control Plans based on engineering, regulatory, and statutory requirements, where applicable n Able to develop sampling plans and procedures

Design to cost

·       Ability to use all tools, methods and rules for cost evaluation and optimization of designed items

·       Understands the notions of DVC, COGS and manufacturing base cost n Understands the link with the product components and parts.

·       Understands calculation of COGS (Capex, MBC, ..) n Has estimation in mind about products, functions and component costs n Is able to estimate cost for products components and parts and the parameters than can help to reduce its costs

·       Knows functional and value analysis n Understands all parameters involved in the COGS (Capex, MBC, ...) n Knows the reference values for product functions costs n Is able to estimate cost by functions for a product design. Identifies design adaptations to reduce product CoGS
