Who We Are
More than 30 years ago, 3D Systems launched the 3D printing industry and has been leading additive manufacturing innovation ever since. Today, our diverse, global workforce brings innovation, performance, and reliability to every interaction - empowering our customers to create physical products at a digital pace. 3D Systems’ solutions address a variety of advanced applications in healthcare and industrial markets such as medical and dental, aerospace & defense, automotive, and durable goods.
What Can You Expect?
We believe that conducting business with integrity, valuing diversity in people and ideas, and being a positive force for action in our company and our communities are vital to our success and the right thing to do. We’re looking for innovative thought leaders who share this passion to join our Intern Program.
Our summer intern experience is designed to provide students with a challenging and meaningful internship to gain valuable hands-on experience. All students in the program will be given a project with clear learning objectives and desired outcomes. At the conclusion of the internship, each intern will have the opportunity to present their summer project to leadership. Interns will also have exposure to other areas of 3D Systems to learn about all of our solutions. You will be given the opportunity to network with other interns and colleagues at 3D Systems including our senior leaders.
What You Will Do
- Develop Product Quality Processes: Utilize existing processes and inspection methods and augment capabilities with new processes to meet technical requirements of internally and externally driven projects. Specify, justify financially, develop, and implement new methods for ensuring the quality of product produced at 30 Systems.
- Conduct Process and Product Validation: Participate in cross functional team to develop and execute test protocols for the verification and validation of new products, materials, equipment, software, and processes. Perform statistical analysis of data to assess viability of product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Perform Measurement System Analysis: Identify and evaluate measurement systems to ensure accuracy, precision and stability used to assess product conformity.
- This role will involve the creation and execution of protocols for determining the tolerance capabilities and general use conditions for which various inspection equipment can be reliably used without additional validation moving forward.
- This will involve designing test plans, collaborating and coordinating with other groups to design and have test articles produced and inspected in addition to performing statistical analysis to determine the tolerance capabilities and use conditions.
- Resolve technical issues: Use engineering skills and knowledge to troubleshoot and improve processes where significant variability is
- Follow developed processes and projects through design transfer and into the first year of volume production. Working within a cross-functional team, ensure that insufficiently developed processes are remediated, work instructions are updated, and scrap is minimized. Document the results of investigation and resolution through the CAPA, NCRs or Deviation processes.
