DL George & Sons Manufacturing is looking for a Designer/Drafter with 5+ years of professional drafting experience.
Designer/Drafter Skills & Attributes:

Designer/Drafter Responsibilities and Duties:
- Checks submittal, installation, and fabrication drawings for dimensional accuracy to construction documents, constructability and general conformance to specifications, application of project details, standard operating procedure, and engineering requirements.
- Checks for accuracy to installation and fabrication drawings, formatting and clarity.
- Checking quantity and the bill of materials on the fabrication drawings.
- Signs off on finalized submittal and fabrication drawings and ensures finalized drawings are provided to project management.
- Monitors the general drafting workflow on assigned projects for adherence to standard operating procedure and schedule tracking.
- Completing model and/or sketches for specific design issues.
- Attending Design assist meetings for new projects.
- Design assist checking and sketches for detailing team.
- Checking origin and coordinate points with BIM consultant.
- Ability to work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers.
- Must have the ability to produce/review drawings and provide feedback through redlines to engineering team.
Designer/Drafter Required Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Design/Drafting and/or CAD preferred.
- Certification of two (2) years training from a vocational training school or two (2) years of college with courses relevant to drafting or engineering.
- 5+ years of professional drafting experience.
- 3 years of related experience to our relevant industry of structural steel.
- 2+ years extensive pre-fabrication drafting checking experience preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents and shop drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Auto CAD 2D and 3D.
- Must have experience using solid modeling CAD software (experience with Advance Steel/Inventor works a plus).
- Experience with AISC drawing standards.
- Experience with weldment practices and methods.
- Experience checking fabrication prints.
