R41192 Design Engineer Mechanical JD

As an Engineer – Mechanical on the S-Series Engineering team, you’ll contribute across the product lifecycle for our S-Series front-discharge concrete mixers—supporting new product development and testing, executing design improvements, resolving production or quality issues, and partnering with service to improve reliability and uptime.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, testing, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
  • Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, cost/weight, and reliability.
  • Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.
  • Create and maintain project documentation for project planning, requirements analysis, risk management, issues management, status reporting, project communication, quality assurance, research and historical records.
  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the Oshkosh Way.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
  • Experience with a high level CAD system.
  • SAE or BAJA Team Involvement

Pay Range:

$63,500.00 - $101,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
