Job Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, quotation, and manufacturing of ASME pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and storage tanks. This position develops engineering calculations, material requirements, fabrication documentation, and design packages while ensuring compliance with applicable ASME, API, and TEMA codes and standards. The Design Engineer collaborates with customers, vendors, inspectors, and production personnel to deliver accurate quotations, support fabrication activities, resolve technical questions, and compile final project documentation. This role requires a strong commitment to quality, code compliance, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform ASME & API calculations for customer RFQ’s utilizing Compress and AME Tank software packages
- Review ASME & API fabrication drawings for code compliance prior to customer submittal
- Prepare Pressure Vessel/Heat Exchanger Job Design packages (Calculations, Inspection Traveler, Weld Map, BOM) prior to A.I. review
- Field questions from shop and customers
- Maintain working knowledge of ASME/API/TEMA code specification changes
- Review and approve Material Test Reports (MTR’s) for ASME Section II compliance
- Compose Final Data Packages for customer submittal
- Perform such other duties that may arise in the performance of the above, and/or that may be subsequently assigned

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required
- 3-7 years of mechanical design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience designing pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, or similar engineered-to-order products preferred
