Qualifications
Summary/Objective
The Design and Showroom Team Lead is responsible for managing the schedule of the showroom, leading and assisting the team of designers and collaborating with Geneal Manager to ensure customer and team satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assists with training new employees and with hiring/interviewing.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
- Assist General Manager with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- With manager’s assistance, handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Handles timecard approvals, time-off requests and other tasks for employees and temps.
Essential Functions

- Act as a mentor and assists the team of Designers as needed. Identifies and schedules trainings as needed to address performance needs and career objectives.
- Manage design team workload and ensure quotes are submitted by the bid due date.
- Accountable for quantity and quality of work performed by assigned staff of Designers.
- Ensure all samples are up-to-date and request new samples as needed.
- Create and manage the Showroom schedule to ensure that front desk is appropriately staffed and walk-in clients are being helped quickly and professionally.
- Provides exceptional service to customers by welcoming them, being helpful, anticipating & responding to their needs.
- Works independently to prepare quotes and proposals for all product categories in a timely manner utilizing designated company guidelines, systems, and software.
- Demonstrates and applies strong working knowledge of 2020 design software and creative design skills for countertops and cabinetry.
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of company procedures and workflow including but not limited to; pricing programs/proposals, order process, job completion, service requests, customer inquiries and other internal systems.
- Demonstrates and applies thorough understanding of appliance specifications and integration with cabinetry.
- Assist Cedar Rapids General Manager with the achievement of departmental goals, logistics and other assigned activities.
- Maintains professionalism in all aspects of job duties.
- Assists with maintenance of showroom tasks
- Performs other related duties as required.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Required Education and Experience
- Strong knowledge of 2020 design software
- Ability to read and scale residential and commercial blueprints
- Ability to multitask and professionally manage interactions internally and externally to the company
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet due dates and commitments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
- Kitchen design and sales experience
