Demand Planner - Builder Hard SurfacePosition Overview
The Demand Planner I is responsible for supporting the development of accurate and data-driven demand forecasts. This role focuses on building statistical/baseline forecasts, identifying demand trends through historical performance and leading indicators, and ensuring alignment between demand signals and business objectives. Reporting directly to the Senior Demand Planner, the Demand Planner I plays a critical role in providing analytical support and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and overall supply chain performance.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and maintenance of statistical/baseline forecasts using historical sales data, seasonality, and leading indicators.
Analyze trends, outliers, and demand shifts to support forecast accuracy and identify potential risks or opportunities.
Collaborate closely with the Senior Demand Planner to review forecast models, assumptions, and planning scenarios.
Assist in the preparation of forecast reports, KPIs, and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
Participate in forecast review meetings (mix meetings) and provide data-driven insights to cross-functional teams.
Work with the Senior Demand Planner to support product lifecycle management, including new product introductions, transitions, and phase-outs
Support communication and coordination with business partners (e.g., product category, brand, sales) to gather market intelligence and planning inputs.
Continuously improve forecasting tools, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain planning system data integrity and support troubleshooting of forecast-related issues.
Help support system enhancements and testing related to demand planning tools and integrations.
Engage in continuous learning and development around forecasting methodologies, business intelligence tools, and supply chain trends.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis (internships or co-op experience considered)
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets and trend
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in analyses.
Eager to learn and develop skills in demand planning and supply chain management.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to work independently.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to translate data using varying platforms, e.g., Excel, Tableau, SQL and PowerBi.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
