Diesel Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a growing maintenance team supporting fleet vehicles, heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. This position is ideal for a technician who can diagnose issues efficiently, perform repairs independently, and help minimize equipment downtime.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment with long-term stability, advancement opportunities, and consistent overtime available.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and driveline components

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service work

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures using diagnostic software and testing equipment

• Repair and replace:- brakes

  • suspensions
  • transmissions
  • injectors
  • turbos
  • starters/alternators
  • DEF/emissions systems

• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains compliant

• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes

• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Work closely with operations and fleet personnel to reduce downtime

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experience

• Experience working on:- Cummins

  • CAT
  • Detroit
  • Paccar
  • Freightliner
  • Peterbilt
  • Kenworth

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools

• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus

• CDL is a plus but not required

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications

• Must have own basic mechanic tools
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Stable work history preferred
• High attention to safety and detail
