About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a growing maintenance team supporting fleet vehicles, heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. This position is ideal for a technician who can diagnose issues efficiently, perform repairs independently, and help minimize equipment downtime.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment with long-term stability, advancement opportunities, and consistent overtime available.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and driveline components
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service work
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures using diagnostic software and testing equipment
Repair and replace:- brakes
- suspensions
- transmissions
- injectors
- turbos
- starters/alternators
- DEF/emissions systems
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains compliant
Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Work closely with operations and fleet personnel to reduce downtime
Preferred Experience
2+ years of diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experience
Experience working on:- Cummins
- CAT
- Detroit
- Paccar
- Freightliner
- Peterbilt
- Kenworth
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools
Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
CDL is a plus but not required
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications
- Must have own basic mechanic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Stable work history preferred
- High attention to safety and detail
