Job Description

Express Employment Professionals- Farmingdale is looking to add a deburrer/ grinder operator to our team in Farmingdale. This role is responsible for performing precision smoothing, polishing, or grinding manufactured components consisting of aluminum, steel and stainless steel according to customer specifications.

**Main Job Duties:

**

• Set up and operate standard manufacturing equipment
• Deburr, buff or polish materials to specifications
• Examine materials to ensure conformance to established standards and identify defects
• Inform supervisor of defects and equipment issues immediately
• Perform minor equipment maintenance
• Communicate effectively with department personnel to facilitate production orders
• Follow instructions as provided by supervisor
• Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications
• Cooperate with other employees in the department and maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
• Adhere to all company safety regulations
• Other duties as assigned

**Education:

**

High School diploma or equivalent is required

**Experience:

**

• A minimum of 3 years of grinding experience is required
• A minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

**Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

**

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints is required
• Knowledge of quality assurance concepts to identify and prevent errors within the production process
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift is required
• Ability to hear, speak, kneel, bend and use a step ladder or stool is required
• Ability to lift 45 pounds is required
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment is required
